whats the diff between US and Singapore power source huh? will a digital cam battery charger/power adaptor from US work here? HELP! i am only a bloody mechanical engineer

oh ok. didnt know chargers can take a range of voltage. do i remember correctly something about clarence buying his discman in japan then plug the adaptor here in singapore and it blew up??
